In recent years,as an emerging industry,tourism has incomparable advantages over other industries and has become one of the pillar industries in some countries,especially in developing countries.Therefore,the translation and research of tourism related literature is of practical significance.This practice report is based on the translation of the English monograph Tourism Marketing for Developing Countries.As an academic discourse,this work introduces the strategies adopted by developing countries to solve their negative images and stereotypes,and provides guidance and help for other countries to deal with their tourism crisis.This report takes the fifth chapter of the book as an example,with the help of the framework of discourse cohesion theory,selects representative translation cases for analysis,compares the differences between English and Chinese in cohesive devices from five perspectives of reference,substitution,ellipsis,conjunction and lexical cohesion,discusses the corresponding translation strategies,and finally makes a summary.Due to the differences in the characteristics and expressions of English and Chinese,there are differences in cohesive devices between them.Therefore,in the process of translation practice,the translator should grasp the differences between Chinese and English cohesive devices,so as to express the translation in a faithful,smooth and fluent language.
