This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of medical text named Aphasia and Other Acquired Neurogenic Language Disorders. This medical text systematically introduces the assessment and treatment methods of aphasia and other acquired neurogenic language disorders, which provides detailed and practical guidance for clinicians,so this report and translation practice do have certain practical significance. The medical text is characterized by a large amount of medical professional knowledge, medical terminologies, and complex language structure.Combined with the three principles of Skopos Theory and the features of medical texts, this report explores the rationality and feasibility of Skopos Translation Theory to guide the translation of medical texts from the perspective of Skopos Theory. This report is composed of five parts. The first part is the description of the translation task, covering the background, text features, client requirements and research significance of the translation task. The second part is the process description including four aspects: pre-translation preparation, translation plan, translation implementation and post-translation matters. The third part is the translation theory, which mainly explores the development of the Skopos Theory, its three principles and the feasibility in this translation. The fourth part,i.e.the core part of this report,is case analysis. The translator discusses the translation methods of medical texts under the guidance of the Skopos Theory from three aspects: words, sentences and texts. The fifth chapter is a summary of the translation practice,in which the findings andlimitations of the translation practice are summarized.Through this translation practice, the translator comes to the conclusion that when translating medical texts, the translator should clarify the purpose of translation and try to restore the original information to the greatest extent. At the same time, the translation should be understood by the readers and should realize its expected function and purpose in the cultural environment of the target language so as to provide guidance for clinical medicine. In addition,by analyzing the corresponding translation strategies, hopefully this report can provide some references for translators engaged in medical text translation.
