A Report On The Translation Practice Of Relentless Optimism

In recent years,literary translation has not only been regarded as an intercultural communication activity,but also as an art re-creation activity favored by translators.As a part of literary translation,fiction translation has a high degree of communication.First put forward in 1999,translation variation is a common translation method used in many occasions,which reflects the essence and law of the theory.It is generalized from the practice of translation variation.It takes translation variation as a research subject,and studies the general characteristics and laws of the process of translation.There are seven methods of translation variation,including addition,omission,complication,interpreting,condensation,merging and revising.In this translation practice report,chapter 15 to chapter 26 of Relentless Optimism are chosen as the source text.The translation text is analyzed from two aspects: lexicon and syntax.Case analysis of the translation task is made by using the Theory of Translation Variation.At the lexical level,the methods of addition and omission make the translation text clear and fluent to meet the specific needs of specific readers;at the syntactic level,condensation,complication,revising,and merging are utilized to make the translated text organized and in line with the target language.Utilizing the Theory of Translation Variation to analyze the fiction can not only solve the translation problem of the source text,but also meet the special needs of different readers.This translation practice report clearly demonstrates the features of the source text,and provides detailed analysis of the translation methods adopted in the source text.Consequently,it provides a certain reference value for the translation of such texts.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30...
