| Nowadays,information globalization has seen the rapid development of international journalism which delivers valuable information for readers,while global news translation is an indispensable part in the process.This study,based on paratextual elements and the characteristics of global news translation,analyzes paratextual elements in international news,and the corresponding translation techniques.An analysis of specific global news translation examples elaborates that five major paratextual elements affect the translation of global news,including readers' expectation,readers' social and cultural background,bilateral relations and national interests,the stipulations of news agencies and the time.In addition,the corresponding translation techniques and results are also discussed.The study indicates that that paratextual elements have a great and universal influence on global news translation,even outweighs original texts,which requires news translators should not only focus on the texts,but also take the paratextual elements into consideration to deliver appropriate renderings of global news by adopting proper translation techniques.By analyzing the influence of paratextual elements on global news translation and translation techniques of international news,this study can provide a new research perspective for the study of global news translation,and also give advices and references for global news translation in the future. |
