Nowadays,with the continuous development of China,more and more foreigners are interested in China's ancient history and culture.Therefore,as a window to publicize Chinese culture,museums shoulder the important mission of spreading culture abroad,and interpretation in museums has become an important way to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.Meanwhile,as an important form of translation,interpretation plays an irreplaceable role in cultural exchange.One of the most convenient and comprehensive ways to learn about a country or region's culture is to visit the local museum.Based on a real guide interpreting conducted by the author himself in Inner Mongolia provincial museum,this report studies various difficulties encountered in the interpretation of guide commentaries in Inner Mongolia provincial museum.For example,there are many vacant words and cultural relics in culture,few translated words from Inner Mongolia's native culture,many oral expressions from the guide,and limited response time of the interpreter and the author also put forward the interpreting methods,interpreting strategies and interpreting skills that should be adopted on site.The interpreting practice came from Baoxing Technology Co.,LTD.,and the author was invited to accompany a British tourist to visit the Inner Mongolia Museum.The British tourist has always been interested in Chinese history and has been to historical cities such as Xi 'an and Nanjing.The interpretation practice lasts for 2 hours in total.Based on the author's personal experience,through adequate pre-interpreting preparation,authentic interpreting practice and timely post-interpreting summary,the author have carefully written this report with a view to achieving the following goals:The first is to promote the spread of Mongolian culture,so that tourists at home and abroad can have a strong interest in Mongolian culture,and the second is to explore thecharacteristics of interpreters in interpreting as tour guides,such as the urgency of time and mobility,so as to select appropriate translation methods improve cross-cultural communication skills and practical ability of interpretation.The author hopes to apply the various translation methods,skills and strategies learned to the specific interpreting practice through the summary of the guide interpreting experience in Inner Mongolia provincial museum and the study of the guide interpreting work.Meanwhile,the author also hopes that it will provide some help and references for more guide interpreters so that they can have a preliminary understanding of the problems and difficulties they may encounter in the interpreting tasks of museums and related ones,as well as the methods and means they can adopt so as to lay a solid foundation for future interpreting practice.At the same time,the author also hopes that this report can provide reference for interpreting learners in pre-interpreting preparation,interpreting process and other aspects,so as to better complete the interpretation practice.Finally,this report hopes to provide some meaningful reference and help to those concerned about the development of tourism in Hohhot.
