This report is based on an interpreting task carried out by the author for a group of officials from the fisheries departments of both China and the United States during the 2019Sino-US Shrimp Fishery Research from August 19thh to 21st,2019.In this report, the author firstly gives a brief introduction to the interpreting task, including information about the client, the users of the interpreting service, and the interpreter himself. Then he gives a detailed description of the preparation he made for the task and how it has helped him during the task.Based on the transcript of the recordings he collected, the author also analyzes the interpreting tactics he has used from the perspective of the interpreter's subjectivity to improve his performance during the task.By listing and analyzing a total of twelve examples, the author hopes to look into some of the problems that an interpreter may encounter during an interpreting task and what he or she can do to help solve these problems by showing his or her interpreter's subjectivity.Through this report, the author also aims to reflect on and evaluate his performance in this interpreting task and draw some lessons to help improve his interpreting capacity. And it would be best if this report can also be helpful for those who may have to provide interpreting service for relevant topics in the future.
