The theme model of CBI(Content-Based Instruction)refers to the topic or theme as the main content of teaching,teachers organize classroom activities around the topic or theme in order to improve learners' language level.CBI theme model attaches importance to language output,emphasizes the use of learning.The author combines teaching practice with the theory to carry out teaching designs of review class,which has obtained a good result.This paper analyzes the present situation of Chinese review classes in Pahoa School in Indonesia.It's concluded that the current mode of the Chinese review class is relatively single,the review system is relatively loose,and language and content knowledge teaching are separated that cannot really improve students' language ability.Taking existing problems and students' conditions,based on CBI theme mode,three teaching designs with the theme of “food”,“Spring Festival” and "climate" are carried out.Teaching reflections were made by means of interview,induction and introspection.It's believed that the combination of CBI theme mode and Chinese review class has changed the teaching mode of traditional review class and made review more systematic.The combination of language and content knowledge can enrich the classroom form,meet the diverse needs of students,and improve students' learningmotivation.The combination of language and content is more helpful to improve students' communicative competence.After evaluating the teaching effect and the students' studying effect,the author put forward suggestions as follows: teachers should enhance professional literacy;the choice of theme content should pay more attention to systematic principle;Establish a multi-dimensional assessment method.Integrating the CBI Theme Model into the Chinese review lesson in Pahoa school proves to be meaningful,which can be expected to bring about some enlightenments or references to teaching Chinese as a foreign language in review class.
