Recent years have witnessed the fast development of human resource management in our country.Hidden Inequalities in the Workplace,published by Springer International Publishing in 2018,covers fields from human resource management(HRM)to law.It has not been rendered into Chinese yet,and the translator chose Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 as the translation practice and research materials for this project report.Hidden Inequalities in the Workplace is a typical informative text with abundant professional knowledge.With Reiss' s text typology as guidance,the translator analyses major difficulties and their corresponding causes.Then,solutions to those difficulties are discussed with examples at lexical level,syntactic level and discourse level.In handling lexical difficulties,to insure the accurate translation of polysemy,terminologies and organization names,the translator adopts such tactics as diction besides referring to conventionality and other resources.As for passive voice sentences and complex sentences,the translator employs techniques including conversion of voice and division.At discourse level,cohesive devices including reference and conjunction are used to improve the overall coherence.Finally,the translator summarizes this report,points out the limitations and provides some recommendations for similar translation work. |
