The Influence Factors And Policy Suggestion Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers' Social Integration

In China,migrant workers are the unique group,and the miraculously fast-growing economy owes a large part to the migrant workers' hard work.While they build up a wonderful city landscape,the vast majority of migrant workers are living only on the edge of the city and their integration into the urban society is a great problem which has bad effects on the social fairness and farther development of the nation.As time goes by,the new generation of migrant workers will replace the older one to become the backbone of the labor market,so it will be of great significance to research their integration into the urban society.This study was applying qualitative and quantitative method to explore their social integration by using survey date of 1097 samples which analyzed by regression model and 10 samples of in-depth interviews.In order to achieve this goal,this study divided social integration into 4 parts:economic,behavior,cultural and psychological integration.And influence factors are categorized into four:individual,human capital,social and institutional factors.Each of them has many variables.This study found that for the new generation of migrant workers:males are in a higher level in the economic and psychological integration.There were positive correlations between the age and economic,psychological integration.One who were born in the city have a higher level of economic integration,but more likely to be in the cultural edge of the integration.One who have agricultural household may have a relatively high level of economic integration.With the increasing distance from hometown,one may get higher income.one with good vocational skills is more likely to get high income,this is conducive to their integration of behavior.More participation in vocational skills training also helps their psychological integration.the improvement of education standards would significantly affect their integration on behavior,culture and psychology.to solve the difficulties in their lives will promote their behavioral and psychological integration;to increase the occurrence of social insurance will promote their behavioral and cultural integration.to participate in more community democratic management activities will help to improve the cultural integration,and more to participate in community cultural and recreational activities are beneficial to narrow their psychological distance with the urban residents.one who joined the labor union had a higher level of psychological and cultural integration;to properly solve their children's education problems contribute to their cultural and psychological integration.From the perspective of holistic governance,this study suggests that in order to promote the new generation of migrant workers' integration into the urban society,we could proceed from the following aspects:First,Reconstruct corporation governance structure which is based on community,and to advocate the co-operation of the diversified subjects.Second,Break the information islanding,and to make a smart data sharing mode.Third,build a policy system which is based on the demand of new generation of migrant workers for promoting the integration.
