Old Migrant Workers Retirement Predicament And Countermeasures

As a Proper noun,migrant worker is not only a symbol of status but also an institutional arrangement.In the early days of reform and opening up,the older migrant workers,as the beginning of the group,joined the tide of urban construction.They worked hard and have low demands.They were workers and farmers.It has low costs and released a huge demographic dividend for China's economic construction.This group of migrant workers should have been comfortable living in old age.However,due to institutional and other reasons,they were excluded from the urban society.The empty nesting in rural areas,the scarcity of older resources,and the dual pressures of inter-generational back-feeding and family poverty.All those reasons have made this group of elderly pension problems become increasingly serious.How to solve the older migrant workers' pension problem not only relates to the harmony and stability of society and family,but also reflects the degree of civilization of a country.Therefore,it is very necessary to systematically discuss the problem of pension for older migrant workers and study the influencing factors behind them so as to improve their senile life and promote the sustainable and stable economic and social development of our country.Based on such social background and premise,this paper sorts the core journal articles of the old-age/old generation/first-generation migrant workers pension research in the CNKI database through CiteSpacV software.It founds that the research on older migrant workers is negligible.Taking the particularity of the group into consideration,clustering and econometric analysis of the core journal articles on migrant workers' pensions,it founds lots of problems.First,the scholars has less concerns on the issue of pensions and a small number of outcomes.Up to now,there are only 357 core journal articles related to the theme of migrant workers pension.But the number of core journal articles related to migrant workers has reached 7231.Second,the research perspective is rather limited.The perspective of research basically stays in endowment insurance,and there is almost no further subdivision of the population.The problem of old-age or first-generation migrant workers needs to be solved urgently.The search on the theme of older age/first generation/older generation/overage migrant workers plus pension founds that it's only has 9 papers.Third,the research methods need to be regulated.In terms of research methods,although a small amount of quantitative research was used,and binary regression was the main method,there exists too larger or too small problems on the sample selection.Therefore,this paper uses data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Survey which was a large-scale interdisciplinary survey project conducted by PKU National School of Development,Institute of Social Science Survey and Communist Youth League Committee.From the perspective of the pluralistic theory of welfare,the paper expands the perspective of research and analyzes the influencing factors of the elderly pensioners' dilemma.This paper firstly conducts descriptive statistical analysis on the basic situation of the older migrant workers,and then uses the regression model to empirically analyze the factors of the older migrant workers' pension difficulties.In the study of the factors influencing the dilemma of the older migrant workers,the paper totally analyzes five aspects of the older migrant workers,including the individual characteristics,family characteristics,economic and communication characteristics,social security features,and psychological characteristics.And then selecting different influencing factors separately through the chi-square test.These factors will be used as explanatory variables to enter the binary regression model,and empirically analyze the extent and direction of these factors on the pension dilemma of the older migrant workers.Study found that the education level and medical insurance of old migrant workers,and their children's income,Physical condition,Marital status,family relationship,had a significant impact of their pensions.According to the final result,most of the hypotheses in this paper have been verified,but there are also a few variables that do not pass the significance test.Finally,combining the status quo of the current older migrant workers' pension,the research situation and empirical analysis of this paper,the relevant suggestions and countermeasures for improving the status quo of the older migrant workers' pension are put forward.
