The Study Of City Competitiveness Based On The Ecological Niche Theory In Gansu Province

With the rapid acceleration of urbanization in the 21 th century,cities have gradually become the main basic unit of regional competition.As it is currently in the period of economic transformation in our country,so in the face of the unsound socialist market economy system,the development of urbanization will inevitably cause a certain degree of non-standard competition,and result in a certain degree of waste of resources.Simultaneously,above reasons also cause the serious obstacles to the development of regional economic integration.Therefore,clarify the competition relationship among regional cities can not only provide suggestions for the survival and development of individual cities,but also have guiding significance for advancing the sustainable development of the region.Gansu province which is not only the “throat area” to control Asia and Western Asia,but also the “golden section” of the Silk Road Economic Belt is an important base for the development of Qinghai and Tibet.It is also the engine to promote the economic development of Northwest China.However,due to the economic backwardness and shortage of resources,Gansu Province is still in the early stage of urbanization,so it should pay more attention to the development of the city and coordinate the relationship between the cities.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the urban competitiveness and competition in GansuProvince,clarify the relationship between urban developing,and avoid blind competition and waste of resources among regional cities.This can promote coordination and cooperation among cities,increase the overall competitiveness of regional cities,and promote the sustainable development of regional economies.Based on the above considerations and the in-depth analysis of the current research status at home and abroad,the dissertation combines the theory of niche,urban ecosystem theory,growth pole theory and sustainable development theory,this paper firstly introduces the general situation development in Gansu Province;Secondly,combining the urban niche theory,an evaluation index system of urban niche in Gansu Province was constructed.The evaluation and spatial analysis of the urban niche intensity in Gansu Province revealed that there may be a certain competition relationship among cities in Gansu Province.Further the urban competitive pressure and niche overlap index in Gansu Province were measured and evaluated.According to the level of competitive advantage,14 cities in Gansu Province were divided into four levels,and combined with the niche overlap index to compete among different levels of cities.Finally,combining with the generalization and specialization principle of urban ecology,some suggestions are put forward to construct the urban niche at all levels.
