A Practical Study On The Coping Of Stresses Of Family Caregivers Of Disabled Elderly In Urban Areas

China has entered an era of aging for nearly 20 years,and the elderly with disability as a special group are increasing spontaneously.But because of the in providing service,the disable elderly with disability are always excluded from the community service system.Aging at home and taking family care are still the most accessible way for the elder with disability.Taking care of the the disable elderly is a lasting task,the caregivers suffer serious stress with little public awareness,and the effective countermeasures are lack.By literature study,the concept and contents of the family caregivers are clarified.Family caregivers include the kin service and aid providers and the employed providers,because family can be deemed as both a group of persons and a place.With the methods of observation,investigation,interview,the presentations and sources of the caregivers' stresses as well as the countermeasures are articulated,and the strengths of case work of social work are proved.Taking L family as an example,by focusing on the needs of the clients,service plan is made and implemented to balance the needs of family caregivers of different types,to harmonize the relationship between them,and to help the clients find effective ways to cope with their stresses.
