The Temporary Return Of Floating Population And Its Determinants Under The Gender Perspective

In recent years,population return phenomenon began to appear in the migration process of China,and become a noticeable trend.However,the return does not mean the end of relocation process,many floating population's return are only temporary.But for a long time,whether in the framework of demography,or in the research field of geography,people mainly focus on the floating population of the"permanent return",ignoring the general phenomenon of temporary return in their migration process,so that the understanding of temporary return and it's behavior characteristics in the process is always relatively vague.At the same time,previous studies mostly focused on the floating population as a homogeneous whole,statically examine the return behavior of floating population at a certain time and do not regard it as a part of the whole process.As a matter of fact,the temporary return is only a kind of behavior that the floating population interrupts the process of its movement,and there may be some differences in the migration process of the different gender floating population due to their physiological,psychological and family division of labor.Therefore,if we from the perspective of gender and look at it from a dynamic perspective,the temporary return behavior of floating population should be placed in the whole process of population mobility,we can characterize and grasp the characteristics and changing rules more accurately.In this view,this article from the perspective of gender,based on survey data of 2015 national dynamic monitoring survey of migrant population and the survey which shows the floating experience and process of population in Fujian province.through the methods of descriptive statistics,comparative analysis and statistical regression model,the basic characteristics,group differences and their determinants of temporary return of floating population were explored The results showed that:(1)The floating population experienced temporary return during the process of migration accounted for 27.99%of the total floating population.The reasons for the temporary return of floating population were mainly the major events in the process of marriage,birth and work.(2)The temporary return behavior of floating population is the result of the interaction of individual characteristics,family characteristics,work experience,regional environment and institutional variables.However,it is mainly influenced by individual characteristics,family characteristics and work experience,the impact of regional environment and institutional variables is relatively small.By gender,the characteristics of individuals,families and the regional environment have a significant impact on the temporary return behavior of the floating population who have experienced temporary return,but their effects have different effects.(3)In terms of the determinants of temporary return,significant events in life processes such as marriage,childbirth and employment change have a significant impact on the temporary return of migrants.From the perspective of gender,women are not only the same as men,their temporary return behavior is affected by occupational change's.Compared with male female are more likely to be bound by factors such as marriage and the number of children in the family.The temporary return of the population is more explanatory.Finally,according to the conclusion of the above research,the paper puts forward the relevant policy implications.
