Study On The Current Situation And Problems Of Chinese Provincial Governments To Reply To Foreign Media In The New Era

After entering the 21 st century,exchanges in various fields have been increasingly frequent.In order to adapt to changes in the world,China has continuously increased its opening up and reform.On the one hand,China's ability to participate in global governance has been continuously improved.On the other hand,China has won more and more attention from all over the world.Under the camera of foreign media,the image of China has gradually evolved from negative to positive.As the world's attention to China has increased,more and more foreign media have gone to China to make on-the-spot interviews and collect first-hand news materials.The camera of foreign media focused on China has also expanded from the first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai to various places in China.The foreign media described the Chinese provincial government's and China's image through careful observation of various fields in China.Foreign media reports on China's provinces will have a lot of influence on China's provinces and China: it can enhance the understanding of foreign people about China,and may have positive or negative impacts on Chinese provinces and China's national image.Reports about Chinese provinces' economy,education,tourism and other fields can promote Sino-foreign cooperation.The media which made objective reports on China's social problems have played a role of media supervision,which encourage the involved units to correct immediately.As a border province in China,Jilin Province not only has its special local culture,but also be involved in the international hot issues such as the North Korean nuclear issue.In recent years,it has been widely concerned by foreign media,it thus has accumulated rich experience in replying to foreign media.This article takes Jilin Province as an example to summarize the practical work taken by provincial governments to reply to foreign media,including inviting foreign media to Jilin Province,media cooperation,and emergency response mechanism and daily mechanism of replying to foreign media.Taking Jilin Province as an example,it analyzes the problems existing in Chinese provincial government replying to foreign media work,including the unclear responsibilities of the departments,the inadequate working mechanism of replying to foreign media,the lack of understanding of the grass-roots unit in the province,and the lack of specialized training in the province,etc.Combining reading literature and work experience,the author tries to make practical suggestions for the work of replying to foreign media in the new era for the provincial government,to enhance the ability to reply to foreign media and establish the image of "responsible government" for China's provincial government.
