The Factors Affecting The Sense Of Community Belonging Among Urban Residents

Since the reformation and opening up,great changes have taken place in the social structure.As an important institution of social organization," work unit" has gradually been transformed from "management" organization,which integrates production and life management,to "functional " organization based on "contractual relationship".The members of the society are gradually relieved by the complete dependence on the "unit".As a regional society,the community gradually carries out the grass-roots management of the members of the society,and the members of the society become "community people" from "unit people".However since the housing commercialization,individuals choose the living space independently,which leads to the strong mobility of the community residents and the lack of intimate interaction among people.In addition,due to the inadequate community function,residents have limited attachment to the community,and the sense of community belonging is difficult to establish.By investigating the factors that influence the sense of belonging of urban residents,it is found that the relationship among residents,the participation of residents in the community,the satisfaction of residents to the community are the important factors that affect the sense of belonging of the community.Therefore,the influencing factors are analyzed based on the index of four dimensions,namely the degree of residents' understanding of the community residents,the degree of residents to participate in community activities,community relations network condition and the residents of community service satisfaction.In terms of research methods,questionnaires and in-depth interviews were made to investigate the impact of urban residents' sense of belonging.Combined with the survey results,the author summarizes the factors that affect the sense of belonging of urban residents,and puts forward some suggestions to improve the sense of belonging of urban residents in combination with some policies of existing community construction.
