Political participation as one of the forms of socialist democratic politics,it is not only an important foundation for the realization of the process of political democratization, but also the main driving force for the reform of political system.Grassroots people can participate in politics in many ways, including participating in the election of deputies to the National People's Congress, participating in the discussion of policy-making,participating in grassroots social affairs, influencing the operation of the political system, etc.Political participation not only reflects the trend of individual political value, but also contains the essence of political relations. At present, the process of urbanization is speeding up in China. The original rural areas around the city are accommodated by the expanding cities, forming more and more transitional resettlement communities.Although these communities are close to urban communities in terms of infrastructure construction and residents' lifestyle, they are still different from urban communities in terms of management methods and community welfare. It can be said that the resettlement community is close to the city in terms of natural attributes, but still stays in the countryside in terms of social attributes, and is an active area in the process of urbanization. The study of the political participation of the residents in the resettlement community plays an important role in understanding the impact of modernization on community participation,as well as the stability of the community order at the grassroots level and the development of urban and rural areas. This article takes the D community in XiShan district of WuXi city as the research object, and uses a combination of literature reading and field questionnaires to discuss the political participation of residents in the resettlement community.First of all,the relevant theories of the demolition and resettlement community are elaborated, mainly on the differences between the demolition and resettlement community, urban community and rural community, the characteristics of the resettlement community and the necessity of political participation of the residents of the resettlement community.Secondly, from the perspectives of community residents' political participation awareness, willingness to participate, channels of participation, and degree of participation, the current situation of D community residents' political participation is described.Thirdly, through the analysis and summary,it can be concluded that the residents' own factors, political of low enthusiasm of political participation, lack of political participation channels, imbalance of participations, poor effect of political participation, and outstanding interest distribution and so on.Finally,it is enlightened from the actual situation of community development and related domestic researches. In order to improve the enthusiasm and effectiveness of political participation of the residents in the demolition and resettlement communities,it is still necessary to start from the perspectives of residents themselves, the political participation system and community social capital. It is a step-by-step process to improve the enthusiasm and effectiveness of the political participation of the residents in the demolition and resettlement community, which needs the organic combination of theory and practice. Therefore, strengthening theoretical research, guiding practice with theory, and further enriching theory through practical experience summary,so as to constantly promote the political participation of residents in the demolition and resettlement community to mature,is the necessary way to promote the governance of demolition and resettlement community and promote the development of the city.
