Successful strategy implementation is a key for any organization's survival including public institutions. Many organizations could not sustain their competitive advantages, despite having a robust strategy formulation process and policies, because they lack the processes in i mplementing the strategies and adopting change.Considering the higher failure rates in implementation of strategies, more attention should be given by executives and administrators to implementing the strategy and accept change.Several reasons are freque ntly offered for the failure of implementing strategy. While this field of research attracted significant research interests and subsequently added quality theories and models in the western world, this topic has not attracted much attention in the African setting. Therefore, this study investigates the factors influencing the implementation of strategic change followed in the Public Serv ice Commission in Sierra Leone. In order to achieve this daunting task, series of literatures were reviewed in a way to identify a gap in the extant literature that the research is to fill. The study was guided by four specific objectives, namely;organizational structure, organization culture, communication of strategic plan and management structure. This was done to explore their influence on three dimensions of strategic change implementation, namely, productivity, effectiveness and good governance policy. The population of the study was drawn from the management and staff of the Public Service Commission in Sierra Leone situated in Freetown. The study relied on primary data which was obtained through a well-structured questionnaire. The study adopted a survey design which is concerned with the establishment and test of facts on the relationship between the targeted facto rs and their direct consequence on strategic change. The study employed simple random sampling technique in coming up with a reasonable sample size and a response rate of 64.2% from the entire departments at the Commission. The study generated quantitative data where the quantitative data was coded and entered into Statistical Packages for Social Scientists(SPSS Version 25.0)and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study were organizational structure, management structure;organizational culture and communication play a significant role in successful strategic change implementation with varying effect on the three dimensions of strategic change implementation. In addition it was evident that the linkages found in this study amo ng specific strategic change predictors-organizational culture, management structure, organizational culture and communication suggest that it may be possible to develop more theories about proximal determinants of strategic change implementation. This stu dy also implies the need to expand research to other aspects of organizational change. The study recommends that employees in the Public Service Commission be sensitized on the need to adopt strategic change at the Commission,so as to improve on the efficiency of the organization.
