With the introduction of the three-level curriculum management policy and the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the school-based curriculum has become an indispensable part of the three-level curriculum system.As the supplement and extension to the national basic curriculum,school-based curriculum,with school characteristics,meets the needs of students' learning and teachers' professional development.Thus,school-based curriculum is proved to be a form that is suitable for the development needs.At present,the exploitation of school-based curriculum of biology is progressively carried out in the biology education field in China.Besides,each school has invested great manpower and material resources,having developed a number of practical curriculums with school characteristics.Investigating school-based curriculum of biology through looking up the information,interviewing teachers and students and having field surveys,the author finds that compared with other subjects,the development of school-based curriculum of biology is rare.In this paper,the author catches the opportunity of the probation in the High School Attached to Hunan Normal University,conducting searching observations on the Campus Plant Encyclopedia class developed by biology team several times.Through the literature analysis,non-participatory observation,questionnaire,interview and physical analysis,this paper summarizes the achievements and problems of curriculum development and implementation on the basis of the necessity,the condition analysis,the goal principle,the process and the evaluation of the Campus Plant Encyclopedia curriculum.Campus Plant Encyclopedia has made great achievements in promoting teachers' professional development,developing students ' scientific literacy of biology and constructing school-based curriculum to make up for the insufficiency of national curriculum and to mobilize teachers' enthusiasm and initiative.In the development of school-based curriculum-Campus Plant Encyclopedia process,although the school leaders attach great importance,the biology teachers make great efforts and the students who select the course have strong interest,there are still many problems,such as insufficient courses,lack of faculties and students' learning enthusiasm and teaching materials amendment.Moreover,the specific suggestions for improvement are proposed,that is,improving the curriculum development and evaluation,textbook arrangement and incentive mechanism,which not only provide better advice for the following school-based curriculum of Campus Plant Encyclopedia,but also provide school-based curriculum development and improvement examples for the school or other schools.
