Application Of Local Geography Curriculum Resources In High School Geography Teaching

As seen from the related content of the basic education curricular reforms,local geographical resources,as a part of geographical curriculum resources,plays a more and more important role in the curricular reform.Although demands for the application of local geographical resources were not definitely announced in content standards in Geography Curriculum Criteria of Full-Time Ordinary Senior High School,teaching activity suggestions have referred to using the local geography curriculum resources for teaching.Meanwhile,emotion attitude and value of the course goal has point out that it should be strengthen the hometown feelings.The development and utilization in local geographical curriculum resources could implement the basic idea of basic education curricular reforms,which will be a certain practical significance.Firstly,using local geographical curriculum resources as carrier for teaching more easily stimulates students' interests in studies,guides the student to carry on independent,cooperative and exploratory learning,improves the results of learning,promotes the ability of learning geography and geographic literacy,and understands the life practice in geography by the geography view,because that local geographical curriculum resources stems from student side and students in such an environment has certain perceptual knowledge.Secondly,the collection and selection processes of local geographical resources are conducive to promoting the professional development and strengthening professional quality of the geography teachers.Therefore,the application of local geographical resources based on basic education curricular reforms seems to be very important.However,the author's sate,Huan County of Gansu Province,is comparatively backward in economic development.With the social development,curricular reforms have being done,but the overall level of education development,teachers' professional quality and the application of local geographical resources are relatively backward,what's more,the education teaching ways can already not adapt to the demands for curricular reforms.For these very reasons,in this paper,the application of local geographical resources in Huan county of Gansu province was studied,aiming at providing reference for front-line geography teachers.The paper carded and summarized the related reference about the application of local geographical resources in high school geography teaching,analyzed the current application of local geography curriculum resources both at home and abr oad,defined the concepts of local geography and curriculum resources,and discu ssed the research foundation of this paper by means of documentation.By combining activity suggestions in Geography Curriculum Criteria of Full-Time Ordinary Senior High School,we integrated Huan County local geographical curriculum resources into the compulsory module in senior middle school,analyzed the characteristic of PEP geography textbooks.Meanwhile,author sort out the application of local geography curriculum resources in the practical work and mainly explored the specific application both the classroom instruction activity and extracurricular practice.In the senior high school geography class instruction,we develop the teaching job though combining course introduction,examples,et al.methods and local geographical case.In the extracurricular activities,we summarized the specific ways to talk about the application of local geography curriculum resources in the high school geography teaching by Physical geography field investigation and human geography social survey and so on.Based on the observation,this paper makes a brief comment on the students' response to the practical application of local geography curriculum resources in high school geography teaching.Based on the above research,thoughauthor' practical experience,we generalized a few notes that should be done in terms of local geography curriculum resources.For instance,enhancing the awarenessand ability to use local geography curriculum resources,identifying local geographycurriculum resources what you need,introducing local geographycurriculum resourcesin classroom teaching,practicing local geography curriculum resource in out-of-schoolteaching,distinguishing between primary and secondary in the teaching processand strengthening the exchanges and communication.
