Chinese government has only implemented nine-years compulsory education.In Yunnan province,there also has not carried out free education in senior high school.According to official data released by the Yunnan Provincial Department of education,from 1999 to 2015,there were 3.69177 million junior high school students who did not enter high school after graduation,but entered the society.Since Lewis’ turning point,the labor market has shown a shortage of ordinary labor and wage increases.With the improvement of employment conditions,the rate of return on education is relatively low,while the cost of education opportunities is rising.The educational needs of graduates of junior secondary school are also decreasing.Promoting balanced development of compulsory education in urban and rural areas,and popularizing secondary education should be highly concerned and valued.According to statistical method,literature method and questionnaire survey method,we have reviewed the existing literature and then found out the current situation.We have one analysis on the students’ educational demand in two different secondary schools from the urban fringe area in Kunming City in form of questionnaire.The main influence factors include intentions to continue studying,demand for education content,paying capability for education and education demand.Finally,according to the analysis of the conclusions,we have put forward relevant suggestions.The study found that education assessment from the 9th grade students contains:firstly,students’ satisfaction is not high on their learning situation;secondly,the students think what urgently needs to be improved,in turn,is the "educational concept" and "curriculum provision" and "management system";thirdly,evaluation of family education environment on the whole is in the middle level in students,opinions,but the education idea of parents still have space for improvement;fourthly,students do not determine whether they have a understanding of the relevant national policies about vocational education for the 9th grade students and they are dissatisfied with vocational education quality.In terms of educational needs,the subjects that students especially want to learn at a high school stage are "personal interest","basic subject knowledge",and"production technology and labor skills".In the education of the ability to pay,their family income is low with the higher education expenditure.Under three constraint condition,the educational needs are different,in which most students choose to give up studying because of the constraint of academic achievement.The analysis on influence factors of education demand finds:influence factors of graduation choices for the 9th grade students high to low are "school record" and "self desire" and "the current social situation,the state and local government policies".Students believe that the biggest obstacle to learning is "yourself".Students are most eager to get help from the family.However,there are significant differences for those who are coming from the various areas in the evaluation of education’current situation,learning ability,self expectation,various educational demand and influence factors.Based on the current situation,characteristics and influence factors,combined with senior-secondary educational needs for the 9th grade students in the urban fringe area of Kunming City,the research are paid much attention to how to further improve the students demand of senior-secondary educational needs so as to effectively reduce the loss of the junior middle school graduates.The author puts forward the following countermeasures:firstly,strengthening efforts in enrolling students and improving the quality in secondary vocational schools;secondly,to reduce the economic burden of low-income junior high school graduates;thirdly,the school should improve the education idea and the teaching of basic knowledge should be combined with students’ interest;fourthly,the school should take the student as the main body and fully respect the subjective initiative of students;fifthly,parents should pay attention to the education mode and raise the level of family education.
