With the advent of the era of big data, some professional skills and more mature research methods of information science have emerged as unique advantages. However, opinions and misunderstandings from society, and severe employment situations have made the professional identity of information science increasingly prominent..The professionalism of information science refers to the degree of acceptance and recognition of information science majors by information science students who are studying graduate students and social groups that are related to information science. It affects not only the attitudes of students in intelligence sciences in information sciences, but also their efforts in learning, and to a certain extent, also affects the future development of information science. Therefore, research on the identification of the information science major in China is conducive to promoting the discipline construction of information science and improving the quality of information science students. This study intends to understand the overall status of the information science professional identity through questionnaire surveys, interviews, and literature analysis. It explores the status of professional identity of graduate students in information science, the differences in the degree of professional identity among individuals with different characteristics, and relevant influencing factors. It also intend to understand the changes in professional identity and employment situation after the graduates of information science graduates take part in the work, and to investigate the recruitment and expectations of employers for information science graduates. Then draw five conclusions based on the investigation: The overall level of professionalism in information science is not high;the information sciences of different individual characteristics are not identical to those of postgraduates;the professional identity of postgraduates in information science is affected by many factors;the visibility of information science is not known widely in society, and the positioning is not clear;the needs of employers and domestic information and training institutions have some differences in curriculum and training objectives.Afterwards, the main reasons for the above-mentioned situations were analyzed in terms of students, schools, and society in combination with interview records.First, some students lacked interest in information science, some students lacked the motivation for learning, and second, there was a lack of curriculum.Relevant institutions do not pay enough attention to information science majors.Third, the professional characteristics of information science majors are not obvious, and they are often misinterpreted. The employment prospects are bleak. Finally, some practical strategies and suggestions for improving the development of informatics are put forward to provide reference for the improvement of the degree of information science professional recognition and discipline construction. The main aspects are as follows: First,to enhance students' interest and practice in information science majors. The second is to improve the training mode and improve the quality of education;the third is to care about the daily life and growth of graduate students;the fourth is to identify professional positioning and strengthen professional communication.
