The reemployment of retired athletes has been one of the hot issues that the academia always pays attention to.Under the background of the continuous development and changes of China’s employment situation,the athletes in the current competitive sports training system are facing many difficulties in their reemployment.Although the sports competent department in Beijing has done a lot of work on athletes’ reemployment and achieved certain effect,the reemployment status of the retired athletes is not optimistic.The aim of this study is to find out how to better conform to the situation and strive to do well on the athletes’ reemployment,in order to promote the sustainable development of competitive sports in Beijing.The thesis takes the researching methods as questionnaire survey and interview to analyze the present situation of the retired athlete’s resettlement in Beijing,to explore the main factors and the existing problems that affecting the retired athlete’s employment,the corresponding countermeasures are proposed in order to solve the above problems,and putting forward to provide some reference for the relevant decision-making departments.The results of this study are as follows:Conclusion one: The basic situation of the retired athletes in Beijing is as follows: ages from 26 to 30 years old are accounted for 54%,sports injuries are accounted for 80%,master of sports and first level athletes are accounted for 92%.The number of people who participated in social basic insurance is accounted for 88%,college degree and above is accounted for 42%.Conclusion two: There are two main channels for reemployment and resettlement of the retired athletes in Beijing,that are organizational resettlement and monetary resettlement,in which the independent job selection has become the main way,the organizational resettlement is accounted for 24%,the autonomous employment is accounted for 76%;the retired athletes have all realized monetary resettlement.Conclusion three: There are four types of reemployment training channels for retired athletes in Beijing:(1)the training organized by Beijing Sports Professional Management Center;(2)the special subject training for retired athletes;(3)the vocational transformation training organized by General Administration of Sport of China;(4)study in Beijing Sports Vocational College after entrance examination.Conclusion four: The factors that affect the reemployment of retired athletes in Beijing include sports events,sports performance,the contradictions between training and education,athlete’s personal quality,social recognition and policy.Conclusion five: There are some problems in reemployment of retired athletes in Beijing,such as the law system is imperfect,the implementation ability of reemployment policy is weak and the support for reemployment is insufficient.In order to solve the problems existing in the reemployment of retired athletes in Beijing,this study puts forward the following suggestions:Suggestion one: We should further improve the social security system of retired athletes,including setting up specialized resettlement departments,perfecting the legislation protection of reemployment and the insurance system,strengthening policy support and special Fund assistance.Suggestion two: To establish the retired athletes information base,put the dynamic management into effect,accurately grasp their individual demands and make pointed references to improve the rational development and utilization of retired athletes’ human resources.Suggestion three: To further strengthen the science and technology protection,the sports teams should work closely with the scientific research institutions to reduce the sports injuries among the in-service athletes.Suggestion four: To improve the multi-sector coordination mechanism.The coordination and linkage mechanism of the Municipal Sports Bureau,the Municipal Human and Social Security Bureau,the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the relevant departments of the Municipal Government should be established to serve the reemployment of retired athletes in Beijing.Suggestion five: To strengthen the publicity and guidance and create psychological counseling system in order to help the retired athletes to take the initiative on their own development plan.
