| Picture books contain images which are lively and full of emotion,and the language they use is rhythmed and touching;the combination of such images and language produces a complete and coherent visual experience.As a kind of graphics combined with reading materials,this is very suitable for young children to read.While teaching picture book for lower primary level students,the teacher should treat the students as individuals,bring into full play the value of those books,analyze and discuss any problem arising from the teaching process,and try to come up with creative teaching methods.This paper tries to explore and describe the background,function,current conditions,core concepts and strategies of teaching picture book at lower primary school from its own perspective.It also puts an emphasis on the fact that most picture books are engaging,educational and visually enjoyable.The value in teaching picture books at lower primary school is that it places the students at a central position,providing an important path for the students to learn their mother language and start their journey of life-long learning,as well as enhancing their intellectual growth.This paper analyses the present situation and causes of certain issues arising from teaching picture books at lower primary school.And then,it tries to study some specific issues and discuss the possible causes from different perspectives.After that,it comes to the conclusion that teaching picture books at lower primary school should encourage students to practice more than just listening to the teacher,and it should be given in various effective ways,and that it should teach the students to reflect on their own experience while learning so that they can develop better.Last but not least,trying to think over and describe effective strategies to teach picture books to lower primary level students,this paper believes that the books selected to teach should fit students,needs in a scientific way,that the way of teaching should combine images and words and should be diverse,and that teaching picture books should receive appropriate support from many sources. |
