In recent years,the research on teacher competence in our country has been increasing,but the empirical research on the teaching competence of junior middle school teachers is rare.Junior middle school education is an important stage of basic education in our country.The teaching competence of junior high school teachers is the key factor affecting the quality of junior high school education,so this study has important practical significance.This research starts with the construction of the teaching competence model of junior middle school teachers,and compiles the questionnaire of junior high school teachers' teaching competence according to the project indicators.This paper investigates 2101 junior middle school teachers in 11 districts and cities of Jiangxi Province.Through the analysis of the survey data,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)the teaching competence of junior middle school teachers is at the upper middle level but having weak link.Judging from the results of the first-level indicators,Teachers' knowledge literacy,teaching ability,professional character,personal trait respectively are 4.69,4.90,4.75,4.74,and the overall teaching competence of teachers is 4.79,The overall teaching competence of junior high school teachers is at the upper middle level.From the first level of indicators,junior high school teachers' knowledge literacy is weak,In terms of secondary indicators,general knowledge and professional emotion are weak,From the three-level indicators,the knowledge of humanities and social sciences,self-regulation,physical condition,natural science knowledge,equality,adaptability,treatment identity are on the low side.(2)Different junior high school teachers' teaching competence level is different.From the area,The junior high school teachers in Nanchang have the highest teaching competence,the order of other areas in order of score is Shangrao,Jingdezhen,Fuzhou,Yichun,Ganzhou,Jiujiang,Ji'an,Pingxiang,Xinyu,Yingtan in turn.From age,teachers' knowledge literacy and teaching ability increase with age.From the age of teaching,teachers' teaching competence is increasing in general with the increase of teaching age.From the main course,the teaching competence of teachers in the course of mental health is lower than that of other teachers.From the recognition situation,teachers who have been praised are more competent than unrecognized teachers,and the higher the recognition level,the more competent theteaching competence.From the case of serving as the head teacher,the teacher who has served as a teacher in charge of a class is higher than that of a teacher who has not served as a class teacher.(3)There are various factors that affect the teaching competence of junior high school teachers.The main factors are the frequency of teachers' teaching and training and teachers' participation in training,the frequency of the teaching research and teachers' participation in researching,the frequency of literature reading in education and teaching,the frequency of teaching observation and learning from colleagues and teaching pressure etc.Based on the present situation and existing problems of the teaching competence of junior high school teachers in Jiangxi Province,so put forward the following countermeasures and suggestions:strengthening teachers' in-service training,enriching teachers' general knowledge,encouraging teachers' teaching research,paying attention to teachers' physical and mental quality,Improving the identity of teachers' treatment.
