The model method is one of the most common and important research methods in physics.In traditional teaching,teachers are concerned with imparting knowledge rather than promoting the students' ability.They only teach students with the existing models and lack the training of the physical modeling ability,which makes it difficult for students to apply physical models flexibly.With the presentation of key competencies of physics and the revision of the exam outline,the ability of high school students' physical model building and application model to solve problems have gradually aroused the attention of high school physics teachers.But in traditional education,teachers lack the training methods and evaluation methods for the students' physical model building capability.In view of this form,this paper makes an active exploration of the model theory on the one hand.On the other hand,based on the investigation of the current situation of student modeling,a series of research work has been carried out around the cultivation and improvement of high school students' physical modeling capability and application ability.This paper is mainly composed of seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research background of the physical model,the current research situations,the purpose and significance,and gives the research methods and research contents.The second part is the theoretical foundation part.Besides introducing the related cognitive theory and constructivism theory,the concept of physical model,the classification,the method of establishing physical model,and the modeling method are emphasized.In the third part,the present situation of high school students' physical modeling ability is investigated through questionnaire and survey questionnaire.The physical modeling knowledge of students is very limited,and the analysis and abstraction is low.It is difficult to establish a physical model in strange and complex situations.At the same time,teachers do not pay attention to teach students the knowledge of modeling.Their methods single,and most modeling knowledge exists in the exercise class.The fourth chapter is the main content of this paper.According to the results of the survey,training strategies for how to improve students' modeling ability are given from many aspects,such as new teaching,exercise lesson,experiment class,physics history,and activity mode and so on.The fifth part gives the corresponding teaching cases and application suggestions.The sixth part analyses the effect of teaching cases.The seventh summarizes the full text.It points out the shortcomings,and gives the future research direction.
