Research On Employment Effect Of Foreign Trade In Yangtze River Economic Belt

The Yangtze River Economic Belt is one of the most comprehensive and influential regional economic clusters in China.However,the problem of inadequate employment and unbalanced employment in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is more prominent.With the deepening of economic globalization,China's foreign trade has developed rapidly,and has become a trading power or even a powerful trading nation.Foreign trade is an important driving force for the growth of employment in a country or region.The Yangtze River Economic Belt as an important engine of China's economic development,expanding the scale of foreign trade,has an important impact on the level of employment in this region.On the basis of describing the development of foreign trade and employment status of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,this paper systematically combs the theoretical mechanism of foreign trade affecting employment from the effect of labor demand,the multiplicative effect of income,the effect of technological progress,the division effect,the industrial transfer effect,the industrial association effect and so on.The main factors affecting the regional differences in the employment effect of foreign trade are explained in terms of scale,industrial structure,labor flow,the scale of utilization of foreign capital,the minimum wage standard,and the cost of urban living.Based on the panel data of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt for 2005-2015 years,we empirically test the employment effect and inter regional differences of the Yangtze River Economic Belt's foreign trade.The research shows that,from the overall point of view,the export trade of the Yangtze River Economic Zone has significantly promoted the employment growth,but the import trade has no significant effect on the employment;The employment effect of the Yangtze River Economic Belt shows significant inter regional differences.In the lower reaches of the Yangtze River,both import and export trade can significantly stimulate the growth of employment.The export trade has significantly promoted employment growth in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,and the effect of import trade on employment is not significant,while the role of import trade and export trade in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is not significant,and the foreign trade is not significant.The effect of employment needs to be further excavated;The main reasons for the regional differences in the employment effect of foreign trade in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are the scale of foreign trade,industrial structure,the degree of labor flow and the difference of the utilization of foreign capital in the different regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Therefore,in order to make full use of the foreign trade of the Yangtze River Economic Belt to improve the employment level and realize the coordinated growth of regional employment,first of all,we should build a new pattern of opening the Yangtze River Economic Zone with a full opening to the outside world,and further improve its opening to the outside world.Secondly,to narrow the gap between the international trade development of the Yangtze River Economic Zone and give full play to the potential of the employment effect of foreign trade in the middle and upper reaches of the region.Finally,we should formulate policies for employment promotion in different regions.
