In High School Chinese Curriculum Standard in 2003,five series of selective courses were added.The first series was “poetry and prose”.Moreover,clauses and subclauses were established in the course objective and there were five clauses stipulating the development direction of students who took Chinese Ancient Prose as an selective course,which could be summarized as: students need to spell over excellent ancient poetry and prose,master appreciation method,grasp the artistic characteristics of works to find out the connotation of works from different angles and gain new reading experience by virtue of reference books in knowledge and ability;students are required to recite a certain quantity of poetry and prose for creative practice activities in process and method;and students' interest in ancient prose should be developed to understand the thought and connotation of works and comprehend the artistic charm of works in the emotional attitude and value.“The Appreciation of Ancient Chinese Poetry and Prose” was published in 2003 under the call of the curriculum standard.Since its debut,it had received enthusiastic attention from teachers and students due to its advanced ideas,rich content,and innovative arrangement.However,under such great resonance,some teaching problems appear at the true first-line class.Through observation at practice base,literature research and questionnaire,etc.,some problems are observed in this paper.For example,students' interest in the literature is insufficient,ancient prose reading ability is to be enhanced,teachers and students failed to make good use of the teaching material characteristics for teaching and learning activities,the teaching methods adopted by teachers lack pertinence,teacher's quality in ancient prose was to be strengthened,etc.To solve these problems,several pertinent teaching strategies are proposed in this paper,such as stimulating students' appreciation awareness using philosophy discussion,increasing interesting teaching link using activity teaching,and enhancing students' reading ability of prose text usingcomparative aesthetic teaching.The purpose is to contribute effort to the teaching of prose part in t“The Appreciation of Ancient Chinese Poetry and Prose”.
