Reading is an important way for people to access knowledge information.It is also a high-level cognitive activity for human being.For adolescents,reading has an importance role in learning knowledge.Researches showed that the sound from environment affects human cognitive processing and interfere with attention.This research examined the influence of different auditory disturbance on reading comprehension in middle school students.This thesis focused on the influence of non-verbal auditory verbal auditory disturbances on reading comprehension.The study consisted of the following two parts.Experiment 1 examined the impact of different forms of non-verbal auditory disturbance on reading comprehension.A 3(non-verbal auditory disturbances: monosyllabic noise,white noise,quiet state)× 2(term frequency: high,low)within subject design were used.The results showed that the main effects of non-verbal auditory disturbances were significant,and the main effects of term frequency were significant,and the interaction between the two was significant.Experiment 2 examined the impact of different forms of verbal auditory disturbance on reading comprehension.Experiment 2 used 3(verbal auditory disturbance: task-related Chinese auditory disturbance,irrelevant speech auditory disturbance,task-related English auditory disturbance)×2(word frequency: high,low).The results of the study showed that the main effects of verbal auditory disturbance were significant,and the main effects of word frequency were significant.The interaction between the two was significant.According to the above findings,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The generation of irrelevant speech is related to the changes in acoustic characteristics and semantic content.(2)Non-verbal auditory disturbances will affect reading comprehension.Monosyllabic noises will have an inhibitory effect on reading comprehension,and white noises will play a promoting role.(3)In the verbal auditory disturbance,task-related Chinese auditory disturbance has the greatest influence on the task,the second is the irrelevant speech,and the third is the English auditory disturbance...
