The lack and the lower overall quality of rural teachers is the key factor affecting the development of rural education.In 2004,the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Training Masters of Education for Rural Senior High School",which referred to as the "Master Teachers Project".In January 2018,the Central Government enforced the new policy that comprehensively deepening the reform of the construction of teaching staff in the new era,which pointed out that the treatment of rural teachers should be greatly improved.The implementation of the “Master Teachers Project” compensates for the lack of rural teachers to some extent.There are lots of investigations on the "Master Teachers Project",but the relevant study on Physical Education(PE)was little.Therefore,this article mainly aimed to understand the situation of postgraduation training of "Master Teacher Program" of the discipline of PE in Henan province(Hereinafter referred to as PE Master-teacher Students in Henan).By using literature review,expert interviews,questionnaires method as well as mathematical statistics,this paper analyzes the training situation of Henan PE Master-teacher Student,including the recommendation,three-year teaching,off-job learning,and the choices after graduation of PE Master-teacher Students in Henan.Then we will to table a proposal for the corresponding problem according to some problems appeared in the process of PE Master-teacher Students training,which will promote the development of PE Master-teacher Students training and the cultivation of PE teachers for rural schools to speed up the development of PE discipline in rural school of Henan.the following conclusions are drawn based on the analysis:(1)The promotion and cultivation of PE Master-teacher Students is quite reasonable in Henan Province,but the number of students who be recommended and trained is less.When applying for PE Master-teacher postgraduation,some students did not really realize the training purpose of “the rural master teacher training project”.(2)The cultivation of PE Master-teacher Students alleviated the crisis of the PE teachers in the rural schools in Henan Province to a certain extent,and improved the quality of PE teachers in the rural schools.However,the rural schools pay a low attention on PE discipline.(3)The PE Master-teacher Students trained by various colleges and universities in Henan Province are relatively outstanding,but in the curriculum setting,there is a lack of special courses for the distinctiveness of PE Master-teacher Students,and the schedule is relatively compact.(4)The contact between the training colleges and the student teaching rural schools is less during the training of PE Master-teacher Students.Aimed to the above problems,this paper proposes the following suggestions:(1)the number of students who be recommended and admitted should be increased in Henan Province.(2)The rural schools should pay more attention to PE subject.(3)Except for setting up courses in accordance with regulations,colleges and universities should fully consider the specificity of PE Master-teacher Students and arrange course schedules rationally.(4)The training institutions and the student teaching rural schools should actively communicate and be connected.The government and training institutions should strengthen the policy publicity of “the Rural Master Teacher Training Project” so that PE Master-teacher Students could fully understand the purpose and significance of “the Rural Master Teacher Training Project” and raise their awareness about the “Master Teacher Project”.
