Under the background of the internet age,"everyone can create" has become possible with the basis of rapid development of various hardware and software and manufacturing technologies.Finally,the maker movement was born.The maker movement gradually collided with education while it was flourishing in lots of fields,and produced a new education model--Maker Education.Maker education is student-centered,interest-oriented,combines learning ways of practice and cooperation,aims to cultivate creativity and problem solving ability of students.Therefore,many educators recommend it.As the birthplace of maker movement,maker education of American primary and secondary schools have developed rapidly and accumulated rich experience under the support and cooperation of many parties.The purpose of this study is to explore the path of implementation of American schools,maker education from a meso-level perspective on the base of overall understanding of the development of maker education,and then put forward some references and inspirations aim at some important questions encountered by maker education of schools in China on the base of a summary analysis of the path of implementation of American schools' maker education.This study mainly applied four research approaches including literature research,comparative analysis,case study and historical research methods.Full text is divided into six parts.Introduction mainly clarified the reasons and significance about the object of the study--American schools' maker education.Then introduced the main research methods of this paper after defining the main concepts and carding related domestic and foreign researches.The first chapter has summarized the background of the emergence and development of American schools' maker education,and analyzed its theoretical basis,main contents and goals.The second chapter is the basic part of the study.This chapter has divided the path of implementation of American schools' maker education into five parts in the base of a meticulous study of its path.The third chapter is a case study of Albemarle County Public Schools,which aimed to understand and support the path raised by this paper better.The fourth chapter analyzes and evaluates the main characteristics of the path of implementation of American schools' maker education from macro,meso and micro perspectives.The fifth chapter is based on the understanding of the status quo and major problems of maker education of schools in China,has put forward some references and inspirations aim to promote the implementation of maker education of primary and secondary schools in China.
