Nowadays,the latest curriculum reforms are being widely implemented in multiple areas.In order to develop an efficient key-competency oriented teaching system,teachers are more required to carry out practices to improve current teaching strategies.The initial design,further practice and later evaluation of a key-competency oriented system are quite challenging for first-line teachers.This research concentrates on proposing an evaluation model for a key-competency oriented teaching system in middle school chemistry courses.This evaluation model will not only be used to qualify students and guide teaching activities,which gives a better in-time feedback to students,but also improve teacher's comprehensive skills in developing students' key-competencies.This thesis will demonstrate the model from the following five aspects:In Section One,the background,purpose,strategy and method of this research are introduced.Two major concepts,key-competency and evaluation model,are also illustrated.In Section Two,current researches in key-competency oriented education and evaluation models are reviewed.In Section Three,based on Delphi method,application potential,expert selection,questionnaire organization and statistic method for data analysis are illuminated in detail..In Section Four,research results of the Delphi questionnaire are analyzed.Via two rounds application of Delphi method,experts had reach an agreement for the core components in establishing an evaluation model for a key-competency oriented teaching system.A practice of applying this evaluation model to current chemistry class is also presented.In Section Five,the conclusion and innovation of this research is summarized.Last but not least,the limitation and further development of this theory are also discussed.At first,the fundamental structure of my evaluation model is established by studying previous publications and interviewing some advanced teachers.The evaluation model for a key-competency oriented teaching system is further optimized via investigation on 22 experts who are chosen from distinguished professors in universities,advanced instructors in department of education and leading teachers in specific subjects.Based on the data analysis,twenty judging standards in the evaluation model were determined and classified.Among which,eleven core factors including the pre-design for teaching objectives and optimization for class content,teaching and listening,exploration and guidance,feedback and initial inspiration,student guidance,knowledge integration knowledge&skill improvement as well as comprehensive ability improvement play the most significant role in evaluating the key-competency oriented teaching system.Other nine factors are less significant but still useful.Finally,based on these results,core components are decided for evaluating a key-competency oriented system.Since this evaluation model is not applied in a large scare in middle school education,this research presents a possible model to evaluate a key-competency oriented system from a theoretical level.A basic analysis tool is presented to perform a basic evaluation on students and teachers.Further optimizations are needed to increase the reliability and efficiency of this model.
