The Ministry of Education released the Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Experimental Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools in November 2019,which proposed to improve the evaluation mechanism of practical teaching and incorporate the experimental teaching situation into the education quality evaluation and monitoring system.Chemistry experiments are an essential part of chemistry education and a critical link in promoting quality education and cultivating students’ thinking and hands-on skills.Therefore,establishing a comprehensive,objective,scientific,and reasonable evaluation system of chemistry teachers’ experimental teaching ability can objectively reflect the teachers’ experimental teaching situation and also control the quality of experimental teaching,which is of great practical value in promoting teachers’ growth,enhancing the effectiveness of experimental teaching classroom and promoting teaching reform.About the construction of an assessment tool for chemistry teachers’ competence in laboratory teaching,the following are specific:ⅰ.Extracting the components of chemistry teachers’ experimental teaching ability based on literature analysis,and conducting frequency statistics on the components to determine the evaluation indexes of chemistry teachers’ experimental teaching ability at all levels.ⅱ.Modify and improve the primary indicators by consulting with experts,while determining the secondary indicators.ⅲ.Calculate the weight of each index in the evaluation tool based on the Delphi method and AHP hierarchical analysis to realize the combination of qualitative and quantitative research and break through the status quo of constructing evaluation tools based on experience.ⅳ.Combine literature theory and teaching practice to determine the scoring rules for each index in the evaluation tool and reduce errors due to differences in personal experience or subjective opinions.ⅴ.Seven chemistry laboratory lessons on the same topic in 2022 were selected for the empirical study,and evaluator consistency tests were completed to verify the feasibility and validity of the evaluation tool.Based on the above study,an evaluation tool of chemistry teachers’ experimental teaching ability with three competency dimensions,seven primary indicators,and 32 secondary indicators was constructed.The evaluation tool is operable and feasible,It can provide a reference for chemistry teachers to improve their own experimental teaching ability,as well as a proven evaluation tool for various educational departments to evaluate chemistry teachers’ practical teaching ability.
