With the deepening of the curriculum reform and the implement of the new curriculum ideas,homework in Chinese subject has gradually attracted the eyes from the school,parents and the society.Homework is an essential part of Chinese teaching,whose importance is selfevident.Firstly,it is a major manner to check out the students' learning result and consolidate what they have learnt.Besides,it is an important way of developing students' ability to use Chinese language and improve their Chinese language accomplishment.It also embodies the teaching ideas and professional quality of a Chinese teacher.In real Chinese teaching,however,due to not being given enough focus,homework is usually not designed with so much care,lacking elasticity.In order to investigate the present situation and think rationally about the problems of the junior middle school Chinese homework design,the author conducted a questionnaire survey in the middle schools both in urban and rural areas of Xi Ning City and Da Tong County.The investigation shows many problems in Chinese homework design.First of all,with narrow educational utilitarianism,it pays more attention to the accumulation of basic knowledge but neglects the improvement of students' ability to use Chinese language and their Chinese language accomplishment in whole.Secondly,homework is always unified with an outdated mode to finish,which,obviously,is not taking the individual differences such as family environment,students' experience and intellect into account.Thirdly,monotonous and boring homework can not promote the development of students and therefore,their principal role in learning can not be ensured.Besides,due to inadequate resources,homework has little link with real life.Lastly,the evaluation to students' work is vague and general,lacking pertinence and effectiveness.As a result of the above problems,students,lacking enthusiasm and initiative,show little interest in their Chinese homework,In order to solve the problems existing in Chinese homework design,based on the requirements of the new curriculum standards and under the guidance of the theories of Pedagogy and psychology,the author advances the idea that Chinese homework should be designed in a flexible way.In the article,the author illustrates relevant concepts of the elastic homework design in combination with elasticity theory,puts forward the four major principles of bioactivity,practicability,openness and rationality which should be followed in the design of flexible work and tentatively,the author proposes some strategies in designing elastic homework.Firstly,get rid of the outdated ideas and build up the goal of Chinese language literacy.Secondly,choose flexible way of designing homework to embody people-oriented idea adequately.Thirdly,develop abundant resources to combine homework with real life naturally.Next,pay more attention to training students' reading ability and lead students to do more reading after school.Lastly,transform monotonous homework model into various ones.Meanwhile,inspired by the ideas of the new curriculum in evaluation,the author also puts forward some suggestions that teachers should reflect on the evaluation process and results in time,teachers' evaluation should be developmental as well as timely,and specific advice should be given when giving evaluation.Hope this article can be of any use to whoever focuses on Chinese homework design.
