"Mutual Organic Holism" Of Process Philosophy And Harmonious Discipline Construction In University

As the important carrier of three functions of higher education,discipline is the foundation for the existence and development of universities.Discipline construction is a complex and systematic project,involving various aspects of university construction,which is the core and eternal theme of university construction.With the introduction of"Double First-Class" university project,the discipline construction of universities entered a new era.Science and discipline are concepts that existed before modern times.The boundary between them is not obvious at first.With the constant division of science,especially the vigorous development of modern natural science,people decompose the huge knowledge system into an independent theoretical system for apprehending the world.Then science gradually become a variety of specialized classic disciplines.From the historical track of the development of the discipline,there exist two different development paths-"discipline differentiation" and "discipline integration".Discipline differentiation is the premise for the full development of modern science.Discipline integration is the only way to realize the overall understanding of scientific knowledge.At present,many issues related to the sustainable development of society,such as the environment,resources,economy,population,and health,put forward a series of complex problems that cannot be solved by a single discipline of knowledge.As a result,scientific research has emerged from highly divergent to comprehensive development.Discipline integration is not only the internal demand for the development of whole knowledge,but also an important guarantee for high-level talent training and scientific innovation.There are three major problems in our country's discipline construction-the division of discipline development and the serious shortage of integration,the single model of talent training,and the severe barriers of discipline separation.In order to solve the current problems,This paper proposes the theory of harmonious discipline construction.First of all,this paper analyzes the reason of the predicament of discipline construction,which is the theory of discipline construction represented by Burton Clark's discipline professional matrix structure.Therefore,it needs to find new theoretical support for the discipline construction.Secondly,a new theory of discipline construction is proposed"Mutual organic holism" of the process philosophy and the construction of harmonious university discipline.Furthermore,the argument of science,technology and humanities has made a deeper defense for the concept of harmonious discipline construction.At last,this paper discusses three ideas of harmonious discipline construction.We should reconcile the contradiction between discipline differentiation and discipline integration.Then analyses the static dimension and dynamic function construction of harmonious discipline.
