Research On The Formation And Management Of Alumni Archives In Colleges And Universities

The archives of alumni are an important part of the university archives system.Nowadays,the resources of the archives in Colleges and universities are extremely uneven.As the alumni work is often regarded as a kind of human resources,educational resources and financial resources,the alumni files are emphasized to emphasize the alumni support,the students' Education and the enrichment of the campus culture.The practical use value and utilization means of other aspects reflect the values of alumni archives which are oriented by universities themselves.In terms of the needs of the development of colleges and universities,this is not too bad,but if the value of the alumni archives is limited to this,and neglecting its cultural and social values as a file,it will inevitably lead to the utilitarian tendency in practice.At present,the archives of alumni are often used as document files,which leads to a single resource(limited to student records)and a single collection of objects(limited to successful alumni).As a character file,it is easy to lead to a single use(limited to case inspirational Education)and a single service object(limited to the local school).The purpose of this study is to fully tap the memory value of alumni archives,make it a special collection of university archives,and develop a new custodial mode.This paper first collate the existing research literature from various angles,combing the present status of the research on alumni archives at home and abroad,analyzing the necessity of the study of alumni archives and the feasibility of studying the formation and management of alumni files;based on this,the research is based on the previous research.The concept of capacity is defined.Secondly,we use the interview method in the social survey method to carry out the face-to-face semi-structured interviews with the four groups of alumni files,the managers,the users and the archivist experts,to understand the Department functions of the interviewees,the process of the alumni related work,the alumni documents and the research questions.The understanding and view of the question.In order to ensure that immature ideas can be successfully carried out in the study,the author also conducted in-depth interviews with two archival experts and professors to extract scientific advice.Through interviews,we can sum up the collection scope,the formation process,the custody mode,and the idea of constructing the digital platform.So as to promote the construction of alumni archives.Finally,this study identifies the formation departments,formation process,formation requirements and formation characteristics of University Alumni files.And construct the storage mode of alumni archives,break through the traditional safekeeping mode with the principle of source as the core,and put forward the concrete application analysis of alumni archives construction according to the front control and entity management of the alumni files and the construction of the digital platform.
