As the 21 st century unfolds,the integration and development of the global economy accelerate.The desire for the top technical personnel has become a consolidated trend of international competition.Since the Chinese economic reform,the policies and guidelines for the development of vocational education has been receiving unanimous support from different walks of life domestically.The vocational education has been forging ahead on the right track.However,opportunities always come with challenges.In the development of vocational education,an increasing amount of problems begins to emerge,with a surge of calls for reforms,among which the secondary vocational education as a crucial constituent of the education is in desperate need of a change.This research starts with the academic evaluation of the academic courses for students of secondary vocational schools,by adopting advanced theoretical methods and research plans,runs an in-depth analysis of the situations,and based on that,establishes a science-oriented,practical,and user-friendly academic evaluation system to promote the improvement of the system.The research includes three parts: First,it aims to interpret the relevant concepts in the academic evaluation of the academic courses for students of secondary vocational schools.It underlines the core concepts of academic courses,academic evaluation,and academic performance evaluation,clarifies the differences between the evaluation of academic study,students,and student's academic performance.Then,from the poor quality of academic courses in secondary vocation schools,target of evaluation,and methods of evaluation,it has an in-depth discussion of the necessity to reform the academic evaluation.The theories on which the academic evaluation of the academic course for students of secondary vocational schools is based are discussed.This research is mainly based on the multiple intelligence theory and naturalistic education theory.Through the analysis and interpretation of the connotation of the two theories,it provides a solid theoretical support to the evaluators while establishing the evaluation activities and cements the theoretical foundation for the criticism of the weaknesses in the academic evaluation and the establishment of a new,scientific evaluation system based on the infrastructure.Second,this part is a discussion about a status survey of the academic evaluation of the academic courses for students in secondary vocational schools.The research designed a related questionnaire and interview outline.Through the investigation,it has been discovered that there is still great room for improvement in terms of the evaluation,such as the overstress on the evaluation of cognitive content,the overreliance on the written examinations,the overstress on the selection and screening,the dominance of teachers and schools,the overstress on the unification of standards,etc.The problems must be caused by multiple factors.The best approach to solve the problems is to build up an evaluation system in line with the ideas of modern education evaluation.Third,in this part,how to establish an evaluation system of the academic courses for students in secondary vocational schools has been discussed in details,from the basic principles of the evaluation,values and ideas,architectural elements,procedures of practice,and safeguard mechanism.In the “basic principles”,self-assessment and peer assessment are all concerned,the result and process are equally important,the basis and characters are considered as a whole,the qualitative and quantitative analysis are combined,etc.The “values and ideas” starts with the people-first,process-oriented,and development-stressed angles.The “architectural elements” puts forward the five main elements: evaluation standards,methods,subjects,targets,and objective.With regard to the procedures of implementation,around the core ideas of the modern education evaluation,in the evaluation content,methods,subject,and results,it proposes the procedures for implementation,viz.follow the order of “what,how,and who to evaluate and the presentation of results and feedback”.Last,the establishment of the system cannot live without the safeguard mechanism.To give students adequate rights to evaluate,create a diversified and professional team of evaluators;actively create a harmonious atmosphere for evaluation,and improve the policy and regulations of evaluation and the stable mechanism for resources investment are the keys to guarantee a smooth implementation of the evaluation system of academic courses for students in secondary vocational schools.
