The value concept of “helping people is to help ourselves” and the technical methods to resolve social conflicts and maintain social order in social work have determined its natural advantages and irreplaceability in dealing with social issues. With the socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era,to carry forward the modernization of the country's governance system and governance capabilities cannot be separated from the development and support of social work and related industries.Based on social identity theory, through empirical investigations, this research comprehensively sees the current status of major identity of undergraduates majoring in social work from four dimensions of cognition, evaluation, emotionand behavior, explores the influence factors, mainly inspects the roleof environmental variables(microscopic, mesoscopicand macroscopic)in constructing major identity, and then puts forward the countermeasures to guide these undergraduates to enhance their major identity and ultimately to learn relevant knowledge and work on related industries and occupations actively.Through empirical research,we know that the overall level of major identity of undergraduates majoring in social work is in the middleupper, and which is tested from the dimensions of cognition, evaluation, emotionand behavior, and the average of the total scores of the four types of factors is above the median 3.However,there are imbalances and differences in the identity status and level in different dimensions. At the level of cognitive identity,70.1% of those undergraduatesbelieve that they can “generally understand the profession of social work”,objectively cognize and evaluate their own professional learning, can accurately position themselves and determine whether they have reached the professional training objectives;at the level of value identity, most students have relatively low professional evaluation, andnearly 50% of them are lack of positive evaluation;at the level of emotional identity, only about 40% of students have positive feelings about thesocial work major, indicating that they have a lower emotional appetite for it;at the behavioral identification level, their initiative and enthusiasm of professional behavior is on the low side, the recognition rate is less than 50%.This research explores the factors that influence the major identity of undergraduates majoring in social work from the individual level, school level and social level. At the individual level, the personality traits, voluntary reporting and learning interests have a significant impact on professional cognition, professional evaluation, professional emotionand professional behavior;at the school level, the knowledge and abilities of professional teachers, teaching activities and professional internships will seriously affect students' major identity. At the social level, the working environment and developmental prospects of the social work industry and the status and prestige of the social work major have an obvious impact on the students' major identity. At the countermeasure level, this research believes that the identity sense of learners majoring in social work should be promoted from the national, social, school and individual levels. The state must increase its emphatic and developmental efforts to enhance the learners' recognition and identity of the social work major;the society should create an environment and atmosphere to enhance their value recognition about the social work major;colleges and universities should strengthen the quality of talent training and enhance learners' emotional identity;the students themselves must continue to refine their professional will, and enhance the behavioral identity of social work major.
