Taking 390 vocational school students as the research object,employing the method of questionnaire and experiment,this paper attempts to discover the characteristics and relationships between future orientation and learning engagement of vocational school students,as well as the intervention effect that future orientation has on learning engagement.The characteristics and relationship between future orientation and learning engagement of vocational school students were studied by using Future orientation of adolescent questionnaire and Learning engagement scale.Two homogenous classes were divided into two groups,experimental group(n=32)and controlled group(n=32).Self-designed mental health education courses,future-oriented,were carried out for the experimental group for the time of 10 weeks.Experimental effect is thoroughly assessed by analyzing the data that pre-test,post-test and the results from feedback forms show,which can comprehensively investigate the intervention effect that future-oriented has on learning engagement.The following conclusions were obtained: The first is that every dimension of future orientation is slightly higher than the medium.There exist noticeable differences in the dimension of grade,specialty department,left-behind experience and class leader.However,there is no significant difference in gender and origins.The second is that every dimension of learning engagement is slightly lower than the medium.There exist dominant differences in the dimension of gender,grade,specialty department and class leader.However,there is no vital difference in left-behind experience and origins.The third is that all dimensions have significantly positive correlation except for future emotion and vitality.Future cognition and future willpower action can predict learning engagement at a level of 31.2%.Fourth,the intervention effect of that mental health education courses,future-oriented,pose is prominent.And learning engagement level of the experimental group was greatly improved.
