Autonomous learning is a new way of learning advocated in the process of new curriculum reform,in which students function as subjects and teachers function as guiders.It requires teachers to help students corporate with each other and study independently with scientific learning methods and related strategies of learning to acquire knowledge and to develop skills in the teaching process.Songci is an indispensable part of Chinese character culture.Nowadays,some junior middle schools still choose several classics of Songci for students to appreciate and include them in textbooks.However,due to the particularity of Songci,depending merely on teachers' text interpretation is not enough to appreciate the classical beauty of Songci.Therefore,it is especially important to cultivate the autonomous learning ability of junior middle school students in Songci teaching.This thesis analyzes and classifies studies at home and aboard on autonomous learning and Songci teaching and relates these studies to teaching practice on the theme of autonomous learning.Focusing on classroom teaching of Songci in junior middle schools,the author first made a survey of the autonomous learning ability of junior middle school students in Songci teaching with questionnaires.Then,the thesis continues by analyzing the survey's data and reasons leading to the problems.At the end,the thesis explores effective training principles and strategies of junior middle school students' autonomous learning ability in Songci teaching.There are three chapters in the body part of this thesis.The first chapter conducts a survey of the situation of junior middle school students' autonomous learning ability in Songci teaching.Using questionnaire survey,this chapter manages to find out the situation of students' autonomous learning in two classes from Grade Eight(One class is from Houhe Number One Junior Middle School in Weihui City.The other is from Yangping Number One Junior Middle School in Lingbao City.).The second chapter points out those reasons resulting in the problems on the basis of data analyzation.A variety of reasons bring about the little improvement of junior middle school students' autonomous learning in Songci teaching.Namely,in terms of students,their lack of motives,bad learning habits,improper methods,and vague conception could lead to little effect when cultivating autonomous learning ability.As for teachers,their traditional lagging teaching concepts,single teaching style,and lack of planning ability and creativeness in classroom teaching could also result in little improvement of autonomous leaning.In regard to the corporation between students and teachers,bad relationship between them and single classroom teaching pattern could spoil the training effect of autonomous learning ability as well.Thus,students could not improve their autonomous learning ability effectively.The classroom teaching of Songci could not be associated with the concepts,aims,and teaching practice of curriculum reform as well.The third chapter proposes several training principles and strategies related to those reasons which lead to the problems.Training principles mainly include principles of Songci's particularity,combination of teachers' guidance and students' autonomous learning,self-reliance innovation,and teaching according to students' levels.Training strategies mainly include the usage of music and discussion among students.In other word,teachers could use music to arouse students' interest in Songci learning and to create the atmosphere for students to appreciate Songci using imagination and study methods.Students could also talk with each other about learning tips of Songci to lay a solid foundation for autonomous learning and to offer correct evaluation in time.Reflection after class,scientific incentive systems,and timely enhancement of learning achievements could also work.
