Teaching of expository writing in middle school has long been a hot issue and of great importance in the Chinese language teaching.In the Chinese language teaching,most students prefer narrative writing to expository writing.Teaching of expository writing,not as interesting as narrative and argumentative writing,is not attached adequate impotance.As the modern science and technology advance,rational and scientific thinking of pattern is the necessary qualities for middle school students.Learning of expository writing is able to foster students' scientific attitude and spirit,exercise their reasonable ways of thinking and view external world objectively.However,teaching of expository writing in middle school still has such many problems as low teaching efficiency.As a result,it is a valuable project in Chinese language teaching to grasp urgent problems to be solved and presenting their pragmatic solutions.In view of this,this paper takes the current situation and problems of the expository writing teaching in junior middle school as the target.The author,based on literature review on current problems of the expository writing teaching in middle school,adopts the questionnaire survey,document analysis,observation methods.It is found that the main current problems of teaching of expositionary writing in junior school are followed including the article itself is boring,the teachers and students show no interest,the teaching content is monotonous,redundant and unable to excavate new contents and the teaching of expository writing is neglected.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction.Firstly,it introduces the origin of the topic,then expounds the current research status of the teaching of expository writing in middle school,and makes a summary of the previous research results.The author then demonstrate the research methods of this paper,which is conducive to the scientific and accurate analysis of the problems in the teaching of expository writing.The second part is mainly divided into two parts.One is the catergorize the expository writing included in textbook published by the People's Education Publishing House and of Jiangsu Education Press.The other is to illustrate the teaching values from five aspestes.Two main sectors are sorted in the third part.First,the paper explains the four existing problems in terms of the old-fashioned teaching ideas,too much attention to teaching of single secluded discourse,lack of unit summary,emphasis on text itself,neglect of emotion and capability developmet,vague teaching objectives,lack of indispensable teaching qualities.To solve the problems above,the author makes analysis from four pespectives including teaching ideas,teaching methodologies,teaching content and Teaching attitude.The fourth part puts forward some countermeasures to solve the problems in teaching expository writing in three aspects from updading the teaching ideas,choices of the extension of teaching content to teaching method.The fifth part is the conclusion,which elaborates the main content of this paper and the shortcomings of my own writing,which is expected to help later teaching expository writing in junior high school.
