In order to tie in with the pace of national education informatization reform,implement the "Undergraduate Teaching Quality Improvement Project" and deepen the reform of the undergraduate talent training model,Huazhong Normal University began to set up "Freshman seminar" in the second half of 2015 in undergraduate majors.The method of teaching enables students who have just entered the first year of university to adapt to university studies and life better,define professional learning,and reasonably plan the four-year study and life of the university to enhance their comprehensive capabilities.During this period,the author as a tutor taught the education technology professional "Freshman seminar" course assistant,under the guidance of the instructor to participate in the teaching work.In this process,taking into account the changes in learning methods of resource acquisition,knowledge acquisition and other aspects of a new generation of undergraduates who have grown up under the influence of the Internet and various new media technologies,combined with the curriculum characteristics of the"Freshman seminar" of the educational technology major We carried out the "Freshman seminar" teaching reform practice based on the WeChat public platform to better enhance the teaching effectiveness of the "Freshman seminar" of the educational technology major.First of all,the author analyzed in detail the course characteristics,goals,content and needs of the "Freshman seminar" of the educational technology major The characteristics and advantages of the WeChat public platform itself and the characteristics of contemporary college students were analyzed combined the cognitive characteristics of the new generation of undergraduates,the functional advantages of the WeChat public platform,and the theory of blended learning..On this basis,the significance and feasibility of the WeChat public platform applied to the "Freshman seminar" were determined.Secondly,on the basis of the previous analysis,we proposed a mixed teaching design process for the freshman seminars based on the WeChat public platform,and conducted specific analysis from front-end analysis,teaching activity design,resource design and development,resource push plan design,and teaching evaluation design.This includes not only the analysis of learners and the teaching environment as well as the design of activities and resources,but also the design of resource push plans based on the current tendency of college students to read resources,including the time,number,and frequency of resource pushes,type,etc.At the same time,teaching evaluation were also paid more attention to the diversification of evaluation methods,the diversity of evaluation subjects,and the multiple aspects of evaluation contents.Thirdly,on the basis of curriculum design,the teaching practice of the "Freshman seminar" based on the WeChat public platform was carried out,including preparation before class,organization and implementation of teaching activities,concrete application of resource push programs,application of learning support,and teaching evaluation.It was elaborated in detail with the specific design and implementation process of the topic"How college students should learn." Problems were discovered during the course of practice and they were constantly revised.Fourth,from the aspects of the freshness of the seminar platform for freshman seminars,resource reading,student satisfaction,the effectiveness of questionnaire-based teaching,and student interviews,the current practice of teaching reform in the "Freshman seminar" based on the WeChat public platform Analysis.The survey results show that the mixed teaching reform based on the WeChat public platform for freshman seminars has strengthened the interaction between teachers and students,students and students,the degree of student satisfaction is higher,the application of the curriculum platform is better,the resource utilization rate is higher,and the use effect is higher.Well,the students' enthusiasm,initiative,and participation in learning have been improved,and the teaching objectives have been fully achieved,teaching effectiveness has been improved,and the quality of teaching has been significantly improved.In general,the teaching reform of the freshman seminars fully utilized the main role of the students,the advantages of the WeChat public platform in education and teaching,and achieved effective interface between classroom teaching and online learning.The classroom content and online and offline activities were more reasonable.The design of curriculum platform,curriculum resources and resource push strategy can meet the needs of students'characteristics and curriculum requirements.Diversified evaluation methods can help to fully realize the objectives of the curriculum and enhance teaching effectiveness.The teaching reform of the "Freshman seminar" based on the WeChat public platform has achieved good results,but there are also problems that need to be improved,such as the upgrading of platforms,the lack of reward mechanisms,and the lack of effective integration between online and offline.
