In this paper,the research object is the Literary Text Reading Test of Shanghai High School Entrance Chinese Examination from 2012 to 2016.By analyzing and comparing the selected texts,contents of the texts,and grading standard,it would reveal the connotation of reading literacy which the test embodied.At the same time,it combines the definition of reading literacy in the "Chinese Curriculum Standard"(2011 edition)and the other definition in the PISAReading Test,to explore the advantages and deficiency of current requirements about literature reading ability for those who are secondary school students in compulsory education.Based on the above research,it provides some suggestions to seek the possibility of continuing to improve the Chinese reading education.This paper is divided into four parts.?.Introduction.This part is focused on the research object,the reasons for selecting this topic,the trends of related academic research and the research method.Meanwhile,the definition of literary texts would be defined,and the status of literary text reading in Chinese education would be described.And then,the theoretical value and practical value of this paper would be also determined.?.The Summary of Reading Tests.At first,this part deals with the genres,sources,contents,and the degree of deletion of the these texts in the Literary Text Reading Test of Shanghai High School Entrance Chinese Examination from 2012 to 2016.Next,the score settings,question design,examination points,and grading standard of these test questions would be analyzed.F inally,it summarizes the key points and characteristics of these tests,pointing out the changing trends of reading materials and test making.?.The Comparative Study.First of all,the expression of connotation of reading literacy in the "Chinese Curriculum Standard"(2011 edition)and the "Examination Manual" of Shanghai High School Entrance Chinese Examination woukl be sorted out and compared,which is aimed to find out their different intensions about the definition of reading abilities.Next,it would compare the relevant questions within the current fiery PISA Reading Test,point out the similarities and differences of the inspection objectives and inspection methods between them,exploring the different understanding of the reading ability levels of them.After this,the advantages and disadvantages of the Shanghai High School Entrance Chinese Examination would be summarized.Then,some discussion on its potential development space will be provied.?.Summary and Recommendations.By using a perspective of key competences,this part summarizes the connotation of reading literacy which the Shanghai High School Entrance Chinese Examination reflects.The influence from the thoughts of key competences on these examinations will be pointed out.Finally,it will combine the previous studies to describe the guiding significance of these tests for practical teaching,and give related suggestions on designing tests and teaching.
