Using The Column Of High School Biology Textbook To Cultivate Students' Scientific Inquiry Ability

In order to adapt to the new trend of education reform,to change the current situation of the low capacity of Chinese citizen in scientific inquiry.China carried out a new round of curriculum reform,"ordinary high school biology curriculum standard(Experiment)" put forward the concept of the new curriculum,the most important one is to advocate inquiry learning,Attach importance to the cultivation of students' scientific inquiry ability.Therefore,current biology textbooks for high schools added a wealth of scientific inquiry activities,especially some special columns,is the main material for scientific inquiry activity.Using these columns to carry out inquiry activities,is of great significance for the cultivation of the students' ability of scientific inquiry.In this study,three textbooks for high school biology compulsory module were selected as the research object.Firstly,to summarize and analyze the main columns in the textbook.Secondly,some schools' teachers and students in CangZhou area have conducted a questionnaire survey on the application status of scientific inquiry column.the result shows that Most of the teachers and students think column in the textbooks have certain help to the cultivation of scientific inquiry ability,However,the following problems exist in the application process:first,Teachers and students have insufficient understanding of the column;Secondly,teachers and students have insufficient application of columns.Third,inquiry learning is not reflected in the use of columns.Aiming at these problems,combined with specific cases,this paper puts forward effective strategies to train students' scientific inquiry ability through different columns.In generally,it mainly includes the combination of teacher guidance and students'independent inquiry,to conduct various columns in the form of scientific inquiry,according to the characteristics of the column,the students can develop different scientific inquiry ability.etc.The following conclusions are drawn from this study:1.The development of inquiry learning is one of the trends of education reform in all countries;2.The effective application of feature columns is the key link to realize the quality education and the new curriculum concept;3.The scientific inquiry ability of Chinese students still needs to be further improved;4.The use of different columns to carry out scientific inquiry faces many practical problems;5.The effective application of featured columns in textbooks is an effective way to improve students' scientific inquiry ability.In the end,this paper puts forward the following Suggestions for the compilation of textbooks and the development of future biology teachers.It is hoped that it can throw out a minnow to catch a whale and serve as a reference for future biology teachers to better cultivate students' scientific inquiry ability.Two Suggestions for textbook writers:1.Properly supplement the columns of Science?Technology?Society and Environment(STSE).2.Properly balance the proportions of different columns in the three textbooks of compulsory module?The following Suggestions are put forward for the development of biology teachers:1.Changing the teaching concept and establishing the inquiry learning concept with students as the main body.2.Set up lifelong learning idea,improve oneself scientific inquiry ability.3.Learn more about teaching materials and students and explore resources in textbooks.and explore the inquiry learning resources in the textbook.4.Connect with the real life and enrich the interesting scientific inquiry activities.5.Teach students in accordance with their aptitude and seek comprehensive and diversified development of students.6.Summarize and reflection promote teacher professional development and so on.
