The Junior High School Biology Curriculum Standard clearly points out that advocating inquiry learning is a basic concept of the curriculum,and scientific inquiry activities are the main way for students to carry out inquiry learning.A variety of scientific inquiry columns have been set up in junior high school biology textbooks published by PEP,which has a good guiding role in developing students' inquiry ability and carrying out inquiry activities smoothly.From the perspective of conceptual construction,this study explores the implementation of scientific inquiry column in junior high school biology textbooks published by PEP.In this study,interview method and classroom observation method were selected,and biology teachers and students of grade one and grade two in three schools in a certain area of Shandong Province were investigated.Five teachers and thirteen students were interviewed in depth,and nine classes of three teachers were observed in class,so as to deeply understand teachers' understanding of scientific inquiry column and concept construction,the use of teaching materials,the difficulties encountered in the implementation process and teachers' suggestions on improving scientific inquiry column in teaching materials.It is found that the main factors affecting the implementation of the program are teachers' teaching philosophy,individual differences of students,lack of teaching facilities and total class hours of biology class.The research draws the following conclusions:(1)Based on concept construction,it is helpful to cultivate scientific inquiry ability;(2)Teachers are unfamiliar with the classification of columns with the process of "concept construction";(3)Focus on the use of "introducing concepts" and "forming concepts";(4)The implementation of "expanding application concept" and "consolidating concept" shows that students' dominant position is weak;(5)The use of teaching methods and strategies is unitary,and the process of concept formation is neglected.According to the implementation status of scientific inquiry columns from the perspective of "concept construction" and the influencing factors affecting the implementation of columns,the following suggestions are put forward: First,textbook writers should balance the number of columns and pay attention to the selection of column contents;Second,schools need to provide sufficient guarantee for concept construction and column teaching;Third,teachers should respect students' dominant position and arouse students' enthusiasm in concept construction.Fourthly,teachers need to change their teaching ideas and avoid "indoctrination" education.
