During the important period of social transformation and structural adjustment, the scale of retirees has expanded rapidly. At the same time, the problem of social adaptation of retired employees has become relatively obvious and urgently requires our attention accompanied by the daily services of retirees, changes in the state of life and social roles along with many other issues. For retired employees, the perspective of past research mainly focused on management science, medicine and economics. In recent years, the number of research literature on sociology has gradually increased. However, the researchers are mainly focused on social security and few people study the retired employees with the dimension of spiritual social work, especially from the perspective of spiritual care to deeply explore the social adaptation of retired employees. This thesis takes the retired employees of a community enterprise in Changchun as the research subject to explore the social adaptation problems that arise from the changes in their roles and living conditions.Based on individual spiritual development, the three basic individual competence theories and Maslow's Z theory, the combination of scale method and the unstructured interview method is employed to deeply understand and analyze the needs of retired employees,in which to further explore the spiritual health of retired employees by using the spiritual scale. On this basis,to increase the social adaptability of retired employees and achieve the goal of spiritual care, the way of group work supplemented by case work is formulated as the systematic intervention program, which range from rational cognition, perceptual expression, spiritual adjustment to self-transcendence.Finally,the thesis is finished with the hope of providing a warm and creative method to solve the general anxiety toward the social aging problem.
