Teaching Su Shi ci is one of the major tasks of classic poetry teaching in senior high school and this is of great importance in enhancing students' capacity to appreciate classic poetry as well as to enrich their cultural accumulation.However,for a long time,reading and teaching Su Shi ci in high school has confronted certain problems.This thesis focuses on exploring feasible strategies of reading and teaching Su Shi ci,hoping to provide some guidance for high school poetry teaching.For this purpose,the thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter one involves interpretation of philosophical thoughts in Su's ci,styles of Su's ci,Su's writing technique of “composing ci as poetry” as well as the influence of Su's ci upon high school teenagers.Based on these analyses,this chapter clarifies the significance of reading and teaching Su Shi ci.Chapter two tries to find out specific problems that exist in today's Su Shi ci teaching by analyzing how they are taught as well as how the teaching process is evaluated.Chapter three elucidates several key qualities of poetry reading specified in Ordinary High School Language Curriculum Standards(2017 edition)and examines how Su Shi ci are compiled in high school textbooks.Based on Su's five lyrics selected in senior high school Chinese textbooks(Jiangsu edition),it designs specific goals of reading and teaching Su Shi ci.Proceeding from problems that exist in Su Shi ci teaching process and teaching goals that have been set,chapter four devises four viable teaching strategies from the perspectives of the metre and rhyme,the artistic conception(yijing),the image of character as well as emotions and ideas of Su Shi ci.With these strategies,students can discover the beauty of Su Shi ci's rhythm through chanting;they can sense theartistic conceptions in Su Shi ci through comparing them with those in other Song ci;they can better understand the character images in Su's ci through rewriting them in prosaic language;they can also comprehend the emotions and thoughts in Su Shi ci through cooperative inquiry and research.After putting these four strategies into practice,students are expected to learn to value the artistic charm of Su Shi ci from multiple angles and strengthen their ability to appreciate classic poetry.Chapter five records several Su Shi ci teaching cases where teachers applied the four strategies discussed above to their classes.It reveals that these teaching practices have basically fulfilled classic poetry teaching goals in high school class.
