As a new tool for thinking and effective learning method,Mind Mapping has been widely used in many fields abroad since the 1970 s.Chinese scholars have also launched a study on the mind mapping since the late of the last century,especially in the 21 st century;the research on mind mapping application in the field of education in home was carried out in full swing.On the basis of referring to considerable relevant literature,combined with the experience and materials the author accumulated in the application of mind mapping in teaching and the teaching practice,The research details the hand-drawn and computer software-drawn mind mapping method steps.The research illustrated the mind mapping application methods in high school geography teaching from re-teaching,recitation and practice,on this basis,the author sums up the advantages of applying the mind mapping to high school geography classroom teaching.The paper can be divided into five parts:The first part is an introduction.It introduces the background of this study,purpose,content and significance,on this basis,the author develops a research methodology and research ideas of this study.The second part is the literature review.First,it is the scientific definition of a mind mapping,concept map and other related concepts.The author multi-angle discriminates the mind mapping and concept map;secondly,the author briefly reviews the relevant theory basis of mind mapping,namely brain theory and the theory of knowledge of scientific visualization;again,on the basis of checking and summarizing a large number of relevant documents,the author assesses comprehensively the present situation of mind mapping at home and abroad.The third part is the mind mapping production.The author introduces method steps in details of hand-drawn mind mapping and computer software to draw mind mapping.The fourth part is the case analysis of mind mapping application in high school geography teaching.The author illustrates the application methods of mind mapping in high school geography teaching from the new teaching lesson,review and exercise.The fifth part is a result and reflection.Based on the previous studies,the author summarizes the advantages of mind mapping in high school geography teachingapplication: 1).stimulate students' motivation to learn geography;2).optimize students' geography cognitive structure;3).improve students' problem-solving skills in geography;4).promote teacher-student interaction,and student-student cooperation;5).develop new computer-aided geography teaching space;at the same time,the author also reflects the limitations of this study and put forward the research prospects.
