With the development of Chinese international promotion,how to make Chinese teaching more suitable for the teaching requirements of a particular country or region has become an important research topic.More and more foreign Chinese learners in New Zealand are getting to learn Chinese at a younger age.Game Teaching Method combines games with teaching and learning,which is an effective teaching method in teaching Chinese as a second language for young children.Based on references to predecessors' researches and related theories of Game Teaching Method and Multiple Intelligences,this paper presents the using background of Game Teaching Method at Paparoa Street School in New Zealand.The characteristics of its teaching ideas,students and the language teaching styles as well as the status quo of Chinese language teaching in this school make it necessary and possible for the application of Game Teaching Method in Chinese classroom.The paper intensively shows the practice of the game spirit guided classroom management skills and game teaching cases.Combined with teaching practices,it analysis the advantages of Game Teaching Method in improving Chinese teaching efficiency and constructing a harmonious teacherstudent relationship,besides,its function for promoting students' multi-intelligence development and improving students' comprehensive abilities has been discussed.Then it points out the existing problems in Chinese classroom games and provides the solution to these problems.Finally,it concludes that setting personalized game targets,designing multiple game contents and emphasizing authenticity of teaching should be regarded as the principles for Chinese teachers to consider when designing classroom games.This paper sums up the design ideas of Chinese classroom games,so as to provide reference for Chinese teaching for children in New Zealand.Taking Students' learning styles into consideration and making full use of students' advantage intelligences to help cultivating the target linguistic intelligence make Chinese classroom games more effective in promoting students' multiple intelligences and improving students' comprehensive quality,which helps to suiting Chinese teaching to local conditions.
