Since 1980 s,the wave of economic globalization has started influencing the political,cultural and educational fields and a new trend of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools has gradually formed.Therefore,to closely follow the international trend and further deepen the reform of the talents training mode of Sino-foreign cooperative education has become an important approach for the implementation of educational reform and the improvement of talents training quality in China.After going through the attempt and growth stages for a few decades,the Chinese-foreign cooperative education in China has entered a new historical stage of development.China University of Mining and Technology(CUMT)which is focused on engineering and characterized by mining is a key national non-central city university directly under the administration of the China's Ministry of Education.To improve the educational teaching quality and catch up with the pace of international talents training in the globe,it cooperated with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Griffith University in Australia and established the undergraduate-level Sinoforeign cooperative education programs on the majors of construction environment and energy application engineering and civil engineering respectively.Due to a late start,although certain achievements have been made on its talents training mode of Chinese-foreign cooperative education,there still exist some issues.From the perspective of the talents training mode factors,the issues on the talents training mode of Chinese-foreign cooperative education that China University of Mining and Technology needs to provide targeted solutions include single objective of talents training,low efficiency of talents training process,old methods of talent training,non-standard talents training system as well as the insufficient scientification of the talents training evaluation system.And from the perspective of the talents training effects,there also exist issues in terms of the major setting,teachers' teaching level,students' learning status,internal management and enrollment source quality.Based on these,this paper provides the optimization suggestions on the concept,factors,system and process of the mode by summarizing the domestic colleges' and universities' experience on the talents training mode of Chinese-foreign cooperative education and the successful cases of transnational higher education in the globe and combining the real investigation data and the big context of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the construction of building double first-class universities.
