Music has a great meaning to everyone,it is just as important as human beings need dressing,eating and talking.Kodaly,a famous Hungarian musical educator,said before,“Music should be a universal quality for everyone,just as people are in the context of reading or listening in their mother tongue.”[1]The high school music appreciation class plays an important role in the high school music curriculum.It is also the most important form for high school students to get in touch with music at school.However,in China,the ability of high school students to appreciate music falls far behind of what is required by the curriculum standard.This issue has also aroused the attention and concern of both our teachers and country.How to cultivate and improve the high school students'music literacy,music appreciation ability and aesthetic sense through the high school music appreciation courses,have become one of the most important issues in the current stage.Back to the history of Hungarian music education,the Kodak teaching philosophy and teaching methods are applied in the music education system of the nation and the results are remarkable.Countries such as France,Canada,and the United States have all also introduced Kodak teaching methods and conducted systematic research.For improving the teaching methods and its feasibility of high school music appreciation courses in underdeveloped region of China,this thesis proposes to take Kodak music teaching method as the main teaching method.Take Tongren No.1Middle School of Guizhou as the carrier for teaching practice research,combine with comprehensive teaching practice methods,comparative analysis methods,and other research methods.By summarizing the teaching principles,teaching methods,teaching goals,other elements of the Kodaly Music Teaching Methodology,and then we analyzed the practice and results from the Tongren No.1 Middle School Music Appreciation Lesson,the valuable practical data was obtained.There is no doubt that these important data will be a meaningful guide in the future high school music appreciation classes,especially for the underdeveloped region of china.Our thesis includes four parts.In the first part,we would like to introduce the research significance of our topic and then summarized the domestic and foreign research status.We also conducted literature review,showed research plan,characteristics,innovations and limitations of the current research.After that,we will introduce Kodaly Music Teaching Method,including the educational thoughts,the basic teaching methods of Kodaly's teaching methods,the overview of high school music appreciation courses,and the feasibility analysis of applying Kodaly teaching methods to high school music appreciation courses;Thirdly,we will show the current situation of the Tongren No.1 Middle School and the status of the high school music appreciation course,and introduce our teaching experiment process and steps.Finally,we give our conclusion about the principles,strategies,and limitations of using Kodak teaching method in high school music appreciation courses,“appropriate for learning,use flexibly;emphasize practice,promote perception;respect experience,encourage creativity;limitations of Kodaly's teaching method.”...
